Sarah Mills

Sarah was runner-up in the Entertainment Category in the Shaw Trust 2023 Disability Power 100 list and has presented a number of times on BBC's Morning Live. Her new BBC Radio 4 show 'Bad Bod Squad', hit the airwaves to critical acclaim - “Wit, warmth and speed...brings a whole new meaning to wetting yourself with laughter” - Radio Times

Formally a TV Producer; Sarah's credits included topical comedy shows Charlie Brooker’s Election Wipe and Matt Forde’s Unspun, though she had most fun working on series like Big Brother and the BBC dating show Sexy Beasts (in which singles went on dates in prosthetic make up - have you ever seen a date between an alien and a Satanic devil?).  In her spare time she performed stand up comedy.

In 2020 Sarah won the BAFTA Rocliffe award for TV Comedy Writing.  She had been diagnosed with Bowel Cancer 2 years prior and started developing a show for the Edinburgh Fringe around her experiences; when lockdown cancelled the Festival, she turned it into a sitcom script.  The award-winning script is now in development with a major TV production company, and Sarah has embraced her career change to writing.  She writes for Have I Got News For You,  Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and scripted shows for Sky Comedy and Channel 4.  She has also appeared as a comedian on The Last Leg on Channel 4 and Rosie Jones’ Disability Extravaganza on Dave.

In 2022 she was finally able to take her one-woman comedy show, BADASS to Edinburgh Fringe Festival, performing it at the prestigious Pleasance venue.

In her spare time, Sarah is a content creator - her videos have had millions of views - and she campaigns for reform of the benefits system and better funding for the NHS.  In 2019 she spoke in the Houses of Parliament about mishandling of her Universal Credit claim by the Conservative Government when she was going through cancer treatment.

Sarah’s latest scans show No Evidence of Disease.
