Patrick Melville is a mental health practitioner.
His passion and purpose is to guide and inspire individuals to self-care and cope with professional and life challenges. He uses his professional mental health expertise, his own practical learning in a growing industry and his personal experience with terminal brain cancer to give bespoke support.
Patrick worked in the marketing and media sector for 16 years. The combination of working at companies and being independent has allowed him to see to the industry from the perspective of: companies, regions, levels and disciplines.
Patrick runs his own business, Melville Mental Solutions, which offers one to ones and group services. He is also a MHFA England instructor.
In August 2017, he was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. This is a catalyst for him to share his story, professional and personal. His experience has opened his eyes to how to look after yourself. He is using various techniques that he shares, such as Circle of Strength. Active Listening, How to create the positive thoughts – 6 C’s of Dopamine. These help him with his physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. He wants to help people look after themselves and avoid “putting off till tomorrow” what they can and should do “today”.
“When I left the marketing agency world to set up MMS in 2013, it was a big jump. But looking back, it brings a big smile to my face to see the positive work I have done with individuals and businesses. This hands-on approach enables me to evolve the MMS approach with the market to focus on what individuals, organisations and communities need. There is no better example than with the impact with COVID and how my work has helped businesses manage this change.”
Patrick is happy to arrange a meeting to hear about what are the challenges and discuss ways to help.
